Our Advance Wax Jacket treatment eradicates the bacterial, mould and fungus colonies that cause your jacket to smell. 

Mould growth on a wax jacket occurs when fungal spores colonise the waxed cotton surface under conditions of elevated humidity, limited airflow and the presence of organic debris such as Dirt, contact with animals or sweat.

The hydrophobic properties of the wax coating slows evaporation, allowing microclimates of trapped moisture to persist within folds and seams. These damp and nutrient rich areas provide an ideal substrate for mould metabolism and sporulation.

Prolonged exposure to such conditions not only produces visible mould colonies and musty odours but can also compromise the integrity of the wax layer and underlying cotton fibres.

We use purpose-built ozone treatment cabinets, engineered specifically for clothing and textiles.

Ozone (O₃) is a highly effective oxidising agent that penetrates deep into fabric layers, seams, linings, and pockets, areas traditional washing and deodorising methods cannot reach.

Inside our sealed cabinet environment, controlled ozone exposure:

• Destroys odour-causing bacteria, mould, and fungi at a molecular level

• Neutralises odours rather than masking them

• Reaches deep within waxed cotton without water, detergents, or agitation

• Preserves the wax finish, patina, and structural integrity of the jacket

Unlike washing, steaming, or chemical sprays, ozone treatment does not rely on moisture, meaning it eliminates the very conditions that cause mould to thrive instead of reintroducing them.
